Hello!
I’m MOSTAFA
I like to think of myself as
an artist who wears many hats!
I’m an Art Director, Character Designer, Background Artist, and Visual Storyteller based in Cairo, Egypt, with over 10 years of experience across animation, illustration, and children’s publishing.
I’m an artist who wears many hats why choose just one?
I love creating characters, building worlds, directing stories, and bringing ideas to life. I’ve illustrated 20+ published children’s books, and I’m always looking for new ways to explore, experiment, and tell stories through art.
My professional work includes projects for
Sesame Workshop (Season 12), HBO (The Vow series S1),
Majid TV (Fateen S1), MBC Shahid (Nayrat), and
Spacetoon ( El-Daheeh )

FAQ
HOW DO YOU SAY YOUR NAME ?
Think of “mustard”, just leave the “rd” at the door 😀
Or you can just call me “Mahdy”, most people do!
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ?
Cairo, Egypt
WHERE DID YOU STUDY ?
I studied for four years at the High Cinema Institute in Cairo, Egypt, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Animation. It was an intensive program that gave me a strong foundation in animation and visual storytelling.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AS AN ILLUSTRATOR ?
I’ve been drawing since I was very young. Luckily, my parents noticed my passion early on and supported me with art supplies, summer art classes, and opportunities to compete locally and internationally.
I explored everything from watercolor and charcoal to clay sculpting and fabric printing. After high school, I was encouraged to apply to the High Cinema Institute in Cairo to study Animation.
I passed the entrance exams and discovered a passion for learning every part of the craft, from storyboarding and animation to character and background design. Since then, I’ve worked on children’s books and magazines, animated series, and advertisements with studios across the Middle East and beyond.
What started as a childhood hobby eventually became my education, my career, and something I’m still passionate about today.
